How to set up a Facebook Page and connect it with AI agents

Confirm you are an admin of the Facebook Page you advertise from, then connect it in AIM. The AI agents prepare paused ads for that Page and read reach and engagement.

By The AIM team at Hekmalabs

Your Facebook Page is the identity your ads run from. AIM's AI agents prepare ads for that Page and read fans, reach, engagement, and impressions. Every campaign they prepare arrives paused. Nothing spends until you approve it.

Instagram and the Meta Pixel are separate connections, even though they use the same Facebook login.

At a glance

  • Time: about 10 minutes if the Page already exists.
  • Access you need: admin on the Page. Editor is not always enough.
  • What AIM can do: prepare paused ads for the Page, draft organic posts, and read reach and engagement.
  • What AIM cannot do: turn on spend, publish posts without your permission, or see your Facebook password.

Before you start

  • A Facebook login that is an admin of the Page.
  • The Page published, with a name and profile photo people will recognize in an ad.
  • Two-factor authentication on the Facebook account, if your business requires it. Facebook blocks the connection until it is on.
  • In AIM, the Owner, Admin, or Marketer role on the workspace.

Set up the Facebook Page

  1. Open facebook.com/pages and sign in.
  2. Create a Page if you do not have one. Add the business name, a category, and a short description.
  3. Open the Page, then Settings (or the Professional dashboard), and check Page access. Your name should be listed with full control.
  4. If the Page belongs to a Meta Business Portfolio, open business.facebook.com, select the business, and confirm the Page is under Accounts, then Pages. The person who connects AIM must be able to see it there.
  5. Add a profile photo, a cover image, and a website link. Your Page is the face of every ad, so an empty Page makes a weak ad.
  6. If you also run Instagram ads, link the Instagram account to this Page before you connect Instagram in AIM. The Instagram guide covers that step.

You do not need to create a campaign first. AIM prepares campaigns paused.

Connect the Facebook Page with AIM's AI agents

  1. Sign in to AIM and open Integrations, then Facebook Pages.
  2. Click Connect Meta. Facebook asks to let AIM see the Pages you manage and read engagement.
  3. Sign in and approve. If Facebook shows a list of Pages, include the Page for this business.
  4. Back in AIM, choose the Page. A workspace uses one Page at a time.
  5. When the badge says Active, the connection is ready.

What happens after you connect

Here is what AIM does with the connection, in plain terms.

  1. Your access is stored privately. Meta gives AIM an access grant, not your password. AIM keeps it encrypted, uses it only for this workspace, and deletes it from AIM when you disconnect.

  2. The agents read results on a schedule. About twice a day, Analyst & Reporter reviews reach and engagement alongside your ad results. You can also click Refresh insights on the Facebook Pages page at any time.

  3. Every ad is checked before it reaches your account. Before a prepared campaign is sent, AIM checks that:

    • it is paused;
    • the budget meets Meta's minimum and your workspace budget;
    • the landing page link carries tracking;
    • special ad categories are declared where they apply, such as housing, employment, credit, and political ads.

    Copy is checked against Meta's length limits and common policy problems. A draft that fails a check is not sent.

  4. You approve, then it can spend. Prepared campaigns show as Needs your approval on your AIM dashboard and in Activity, and you get an email. They stay paused until you turn them on.

  5. Organic posts wait for you too. Social Publisher can draft Page posts. They are not published automatically unless you turn on auto-posting for the workspace.

  6. Everything is logged. The Agent work on Facebook Pages list on the integration page records every time an agent read from or prepared something for this Page.

Which AI agents use this connection

  • Media Buyer attaches prepared ads to this Page. Campaigns stay paused until you approve spend.
  • Creative Studio prepares images so the ad matches the Page.
  • Campaign Planner includes the Page when Meta is part of the plan.
  • Social Publisher drafts organic posts for the Page.
  • Analyst & Reporter reads fans, reach, engagement, and impressions.

If something looks wrong

  • The Page is not in the list. The login you used is not an admin of the Page, or you did not include the Page when Facebook asked. Fix the Page access, then disconnect in AIM and connect again.
  • Choose an account. You signed in but have not picked a Page yet.
  • Sign in again or Expired. Meta ended the access grant. This often happens after a password change or a security check. Click Connect Meta again.
  • Needs attention. AIM could not reach the Page. Open the Facebook Pages page in AIM to see the reason.
  • Connect returns you without a choice. Facebook may be waiting for two-factor authentication on your account. Turn it on, then try again.

What stays in your control

Disconnecting in AIM stops the agents immediately and removes AIM's access grant. The Page itself is not changed or deleted. To revoke access on Facebook's side too, open Settings & privacy, then Settings, then Business Integrations, and remove AIM.

For website conversion ads, also connect the Meta Pixel. A Page alone does not tell Meta which visits became leads or sales.

Still need help setting this up?

If Facebook will not show the Page, or the connect button returns you without a choice, contact the AIM team. Say you are connecting a Facebook Page and include the Page name. We will help you finish the setup.
